Best Beaches in Djibouti: Lac Assal (or Lake Asal)
Updated: Jun 11, 2020

Lac Assal (or Lake Asal)
Set at the base of dormant volcanoes, this lake offers opportunity to float in emerald water and explore endless salt flats. This beach is a must see during your stay in Djibouti for its breathtaking views, salt-crusted keepsakes, and a once in a lifetime experience you will not soon forget.
The sun at this lake can be intense, so we suggest bringing plenty of water (for drinking and rinsing off if you swim), sun protection (there isn't any shade), and good shoes for the sharp sand flats.
